Tasie, Oyinkan Chukuka

Tasie holds a PhD in Law & Sustainable Development from the prestigious University of Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom. He has several articles and publications to his credit in international journals. He is licensed to practice law in Nigeria having been called to the Nigerian Bar in 2005. He is an Alumnus of the University of Ibadan, Oyo State Nigeria where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree.

In 2002, Oyinkan Tasie served as the President of the University of Ibadan Chapter of the National Union of Rivers State Students. In 2010, Oyinkan Tasie co-founded the Nigerian Research Group of the University of Aberdeen and served as a Founding Fellow of the Centre for Sustainable International Development of the University of Aberdeen.

In 2014, Oyinkan Tasie started a career in Academia as a Faculty Member of Michigan State University. As a faculty member of Michigan State University, Oyinkan Tasie is engaged in agricultural policy research in developing countries including Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, Mali, Gambia, and Malawi.

He is currently leading a team of researchers on the development of the first Agricultural Policy of the Federal Capital Territory funded by the World Bank. Over the years, he has worked on multimillion dollar projects on agricultural policy research and development funded by the World Bank, Gates Foundation and the defunct United States Agency for International Development [USAID]. Through the several policy research projects, as a Professor of International Development at Michigan State University, Oyinkan Tasie has from 2015 carried out agricultural policy research in Nigeria, specifically impacting states like Benue, Borno, Delta, Ebonyi, Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Niger, Oyo and Plateau States.

Msurshima Comfort Chenge

Msurshima Comfort Chenge is an excellent publisher and a prolific author of 22 well sought-after books, with over a decade of experience in educational and general publishing. She is the Founder and Managing Director of Fortham Publishers Limited, headquartered in Abuja, a reputable publishing company dedicated to producing impactful books that support learning and knowledge development across schools and communities.

Her work is driven by a strong passion for literacy and author development. Over the years, she has played a significant role in nurturing writers, developing curriculum-relevant materials, and expanding access to quality books for learners and readers across different age groups. Through her publishing initiatives, she continues to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the book ecosystem and the promotion of a sustainable reading culture.

She currently serves as an Executive Council Member of the Nigerian Publishers Association (NPA), where she contributes to the advancement of the publishing industry in Nigeria. She is also the Vice President of the Network of Book Clubs and Reading Promoters of Nigeria (NBRP), supporting national efforts aimed at strengthening reading culture and improving access to books. In addition, she is the Director of Programmes at the Fortham School of Writing and Publishing Excellence, where she mentors aspiring authors and trains individuals in writing and publishing.

Msurshima has participated in international publishing engagements, including the Frankfurt Book Fair, the London Book Fair, and the Beijing International Book Fair, gaining valuable exposure to global publishing practices and industry trends.

Beyond publishing, she is the Founder and President of the Prudent Women Organization, which comprises the Prudent Women Multipurpose Cooperative Society, the Prudent Women Advancement and Advocacy Foundation, the Prudent Women Global Gospel Outreach, and the Prudent Women Food Bank. Through these platforms, she provides structured support for women empowerment, education, advocacy, spiritual growth, and community development.

Her contributions have earned her recognition from organisations such as the Africa Women Impact Summit, the Women Entrepreneurs Network (WEN), and Grace View Homes and Properties Limited.

Financial Secretary

Dr Chigozie A. Mbadugha

Dr Chigozie A. Mbadugha is an ophthalmologist, editor and author. She writes poems, short stories, and songs. She has published over 27 books some of which have been translated to French, German, Portuguese, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba. Several of her works have won literary awards in multiple genres in Nigeria and the US. Her novella “Rude Awakening” is a United Nations African SDG Book Club selection.

Several of her works have been finalists in the Association of Nigerian Authors’ Literary prizes for prose fiction and children’s literature. She successfully crowdfunded her book “How to be the Best Mama EVER!” on Publishizer and provides author editorial and book promotional services. When Chigozie is not performing eye surgeries, she writes “eye-popping” fiction and spends quality time with her family.

NBRP Secretary

Dr. Josephine Oghenekevbe Ogufere

Dr. Josephine Oghenekevbe Ogufere is a visionary educationist, author, and founder of Kevbes Book Haven and the African Writers Tribe. She is passionate about raising a new generation of confident readers, writers, and thought leaders across Africa. Through her work, she has authored numerous books spanning children’s literature, education, personal development, and leadership.

Dr. Ogufere is also a governance documentation consultant and a strong advocate for literacy, creativity, and nation-building through storytelling. Her initiatives focus on empowering individuals, especially young people and women, to find their voice, build capacity, and create impact through writing and education.

Legal Compliance Officer

Mojisola Okeya

Mojisola Okeya is a lawyer and literacy advocate with a strong passion for advancing education and youth development in Nigeria. She has over 15 years’ experience in legal practice and currently serves as the Legal and Compliance Officer for the Network of Book Clubs and Reading Culture Promoters of Nigeria, where she supports the organisation’s governance and regulatory framework.

She is the Founder of The Library Woman Foundation, an initiative dedicated to advocating for well-equipped libraries in public schools and communities, as well as promoting a strong reading culture among young people.

Through her work, she has led and supported projects that encourage lifelong reading habits and create meaningful learning opportunities for young people. Her interests lie at the intersection of education, policy advocacy, and youth empowerment. She is committed to building a society in which access to knowledge and strong values shape the next generation of leaders.

Internal Auditor

Mary Jonas

Mary Jonas is the founding coordinator of the Abak Book Club and a tireless promoter of reading culture in Nigeria. She has played a pivotal role in establishing book clubs in schools and business organizations, fostering literacy, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for books among diverse audiences. As a passionate book lover and reviewer, her influence continues to shape young readers and emerging writers across the country.

She currently serves as the Internal Auditor of the Network of Book Clubs and Reading Culture Promoters (NBRP), a platform committed to advancing reading and literacy development in Nigeria.

A poet and published author, Mary’s book, WHY MUST I FORGIVE?, is a heartfelt exploration of forgiveness and healing. Her writings reflect her deep passion for emotional wholeness and spiritual restoration.

Mary Jonas is also a Gender and Child Molestation Prevention Advocate, with a strong emphasis on trauma healing. Founder of ActRight Africa Initiative, she is the convener of Conversations of Courage and Healing (COCAH)—an annual psychosocial conference by ActRight Africa that creates a safe space for open discussions on mental health and practical solutions for healing and growth.

She is the Head Girl of GIRL ON PURPOSE ACADEMY, a women-only platform designed to inspire women to embrace their purpose, heal from past wounds, and live fully and intentionally. The initiative also equips women with valuable skills and empowers them to find and use their voices within their communities. Girl On Purpose is also an initiative of ActRight Africa.

As an entrepreneur, she is the founder of Maemichaels. Mary is a lover of God and humanity.

Damut Victor Sylvanus

Victor Damut is a Digital Librarian at the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale, Delta State, Nigeria, with a strong passion for information access, digital transformation, and knowledge management. He is a certified Librarian and committed to advancing library innovation and literacy development.

He is the Founder of Read2Lead4Africa Book Club and also leads capacity-building programs through Pacesetters and Pathfinders Initiative, where he mentors young people in leadership, governance, and personal development.

Victor is a dedicated literacy advocate and currently serves as the National Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Network of Book Clubs and Reading Culture Promoters in Nigeria (NBRP), where he promotes reading culture and intellectual engagement across communities.

With over six years of experience in humanitarian service and youth development, he combines his expertise in digital tools, advocacy, and community engagement to drive impactful educational and social initiatives.

Treasurer

Adedapo Adegboyega-Conde

Adedapo is a trained communication expert with experience in engaging various stakeholders to drive development conversations and activities across Nigeria. His experience cut across engaging government and other critical stakeholders for various non-profit and for-profit organizations to achieve pre-determined objectives.

In his current capacity, as the public sector and stakeholder lead for the Fashion Future Program implemented by Ethnocentrique Limited and funded by the Mastercard Foundation, he drives business environment reform and intellectual property rights advocacy to support the growth and expansion of over 100,000 MSMEs in the globally renowned Aba Fashion Cluster.

Adedapo has over 20 years hands-on experience in at-risk youth support & mentoring across Nigeria. He is the Executive Director and Co-founder of Pyramid Educational Advancement Foundation, an NGO that provided mentoring, psycho-social and financial support for over 5000 teenagers and young adults across Nigeria and Africa. Through PEA Foundation, he has facilitated the establishment of 5 libraries across Nigeria including the Ojokoro Community Library, the only public library in Ifako-Ijaiye Local government area of Lagos state. The library has been in operation for the past 12 years and is fully managed by PEA Foundation.

Richard Mammah is Ex-officio member of the Executive. He founded NBRP in 2020 and served as President from March 2020 to September 2025. He is a writer and media professional.
